I just finished Dark Days, and I could not wait to write this review. I read the original series back when Mr. Robbins was writing them I was always waiting impatiently for the next book to come out. Needless to say, I jumped on this book as soon as it was available. I was a little concerned that it might not be as good as I remembered the originals, and I had set myself up for disappointment. When a series was as good as the Endworld was, the bar was set very high. Well I was NOT disappointed at all. If anything, David Robbins has improved with age. This book grabs your attention from the beginning and takes off from there. I was amazed that after all this time how easily I jumped back into the middle of these characters. One word of warning. By all means get this book, but do not start reading it until you have the time set aside to do so. Once you get into this story, there is no way to put it down. I can not wait until the next installment of this series.Product details

To start, the characters don't hold a flame to their previous versions. Blade and others are supposed to hold higher-than-average intellect, but their decisions could've been made via dartboard. The fan-favorite gunfighter moves in slow-motion. Wise old Plato appears as his namesake's shadow at best. Character thoughts are almost non-existent, and description is sorely lacking (Hickok is described as a blond man in buckskins; Geronimo, a "Warrior in green"). Even though readers are likely to be familiar with characters and the world, it's difficult to become immersed in the story when these basic elements are missing.
All-in-all, the poor writing and inept characters make the story a frustrating read. I was excited to have another Endworld book to read, but it's not anywhere close to the books of old.
I started reading endworld around the age of 14 or so. I started collecting the books since then. I finally located all the books that are part of the series (endworld,blade), even the wilderness book that had the characters from endworld in it. Then about 10 years ago my girlfriend (ex now)and I broke up. She took my entire collection to hurt me because she was mad that I broke up with her. I did so because she cheated on me. Anyway, I mention this only because the entire series of endworld has been my number #1 favorite, always. It means the world to me to be able to pick up the first book and start re-reading the whole series every year, again and again. Since I lost the whole series I was forced to try and find them again. Only found a few and then 2 years ago I discovered audible and kindle. To be able to listen and read endworld again is amazing!! Ever since doomsday came out (endworld 0), every month I check my kindle and audible for new titles in the endworld series. To my delight I found this book yesterday. I loved it! It is everything endworld was and is. I was afraid it wouldn't be the same considering its been 20 or more years since the last book came out, but it was that and more.
The characters progressed in a way that's natural for a series like this. I love the fact that its building off of a story from endworld # 12( I think it was that one, I don't have the series to Check -( sigh...) and blade #13 (again unsure). I remember the stories and was left wondering what might have been written if the series had continued. Now hopefully, if he continues writing for the series, I will find out!
The loss of certain characters, while sad, seems to be the start of something big, and therefore, wonderful. I hope and pray this is not the last endworld. I will be checking every month again for new books!!! Thank you David Robbins for bringing the much loved series back and giving us a taste of hopefully things to come. I am very excited to see what comes next! Bring on the next book!!!!! Please keep writing more books to add to the series!!!!
How sweet it is!! ENDWORLD is back! Blade, Plato, the Warriors, and the Home once again come to life through the vivid storytelling of author, David Robbins. It has been a long time coming, but has been well worth the wait!
There is a formidable foe up against the inhabitants of the Home in this post-apocalyptic sci-fi novel. Of all the enemies that the warriors have faced through-out the past, none have been more fierce...a strike in the very heart of the home is about to erupt. And boy does it!
What loyal fans have waited for is as good as it gets. There is lots of action interspersed with suspense and twists and turns that I didn't see coming with a most surprising end.
This is the family reunion that Hordes of fans like myself have been waiting for. Hickok with his humor and deadly pistols, and a dark grittiness within the shadows of the Home.

Love it that you continue to include women warriors in this series! This book is a treat for loyal fans and new readers to the series.
Endworld is the greatest series ever written, hands down! Dark Days is the highly anticipated, and very long awaited twenty-eighth entry in the series. Long time fans like myself have waited twenty-two years for this book. And, I couldn't be more satisfied with it!
Dark Days is a thrill ride! It has all the action, suspence and humor that you'd expect from Endworld, but with a darker, grittier feeling to it.
Dark Days may be the most emotionally powerful story in the whole Endworld series. Reading it was like having a reunion with old friends. And sadly , having to bid farewell to some of them.
This is the best book I've read in years! If you're an old fan of Endworld, you deserve to treat yourself to this book. If you've never read an Endworld book, you're missing out on something very special. Give this book a try. I know you'll fall in love with this series just like I and so many others have.
Now, I'm off to read it again. Yes, it's that good!
